In only 2 years you can graduate with a bachelor's degree with the accelerated full-time course. International students may choose to complete the course in 3 years (CRICOS 058460D) rather than the accelerated 2-year option.

Students who have successfully completed 4 trimesters of the Bachelor programme may successfully graduate with an associate degree qualification.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Animation) program are well-prepared for a diverse range of career opportunities in the animation industry and beyond.

With a strong foundation in animation principles and access to cutting-edge technology, graduates can pursue roles such as animator, character artist, visual effects artist, or game designer. Additionally, graduates may explore careers as creative directors, directors, or user interface designers, among others.

The accelerated full-time course allows students to graduate with a bachelor's degree in just two years, providing a fast track to launching their careers.

International study opportunities, such as the Dutch Exchange and Japan Study Tour, offer unique experiences for building international contacts and further enriching students' animation education. Whether aspiring to work in film, gaming, advertising, or other creative industries, graduates of JMC's Animation program are equipped to make their mark as leaders in the field.

Undergraduate (Diploma + Bachelor Degree) applicants must show the following:

  • Proof of English proficiency: minimum IELTS 6.0 overall (with no single band score below 5.5) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of successful completion of a senior Secondary School certificate (transcripts and certificate must be translated and certified).
  • Attend an interview in person or online.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age on commencement of studies.
  • Contemporary Music applicants must undertake an audition.
  • Audition videos/online links are accepted for applicants living overseas or interstate.
  • Songwriting applicants may undertake an audition OR submit a folio.
  • The folio can consist of song lyrics, charts, recorded original songs or other relevant items as discussed with the admissions officer.
  • Music Production applicants must submit a folio.
  • Animation, Games and Design applicants are required to prepare a portfolio of sample work/drawings.
  • Acting applicants must undertake an audition.

Requirements for Alternative Admission

For applicants who have not completed senior high school, entry to a Diploma, upon successful completion of which articulation into a Bachelor Degree program is guaranteed, is based on:

  • Evidence of minimum completion of Year 10, or equivalent, with an appropriate VET qualification and/or relevant industry work experience.
  • Written application (with compulsory 200 word statement to assess functional literacy).
  • An interview to identify potential difficulties that may impact on learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment with satisfactory communication skills sufficient to indicate reasonable likelihood of successful completion of Diploma studies.
  • A portfolio of work or performance audition (if applicable).
  • Demonstrated (above average) creative aptitude or expertise pertinent to field of interest.
  • Applicants must also satisfy all other entry requirements for admission.
